Sorry for the light posting

A couple projects are getting completed here over this week. Once out from under them, I will resume normal scheduled programming. This time of year something always seems to keep my posting limited.
I have some scheduled machine preventative maintenance and shop clean up to do as I am getting my new-used lathe up and running too.

More to come soon.

Third one coming a long.

Quite a bit of hand work to finish up on this one.
A couple shows and another project jumping in the middle here and there. There will be finished images very soon.

Purple Heart Frame, Cherry corner locks, maple insert in middle

Decking it to thickness

The beginning of the decking off

depth controls the shading, and the pieces start breaking out around the main engrave

Hand work with chisels

a couple shot back on the machine.

I found a couple spots I wanted to clean up.

And this showed the engraving better.

Tons of work to do on this sign, but still will be a really cool piece.

Bubinga, Purple heart and Cherry

Three great tastes, that taste great together..... Well I guess I don't know how they taste but it seems I had heard that somewhere before.

Nice small box using up some smaller drop falls from previous project

Bubinga on the perimeter, purple heart in the center

Cherry making of the base.

Take a look around. If you see something I still may have it, If I don't anymore I can make you another one.

If you have a unique idea, drop me a note and lets talk about it and get a project started for you. Holidays are quickly approaching....

Update 2

For those not following along please see below earlier postings.

Ok the start of the 1/8 inch ball tool. you will start to notice a tremendous amount of detail starting to show. note the bottom left corner is completed versus the upper part.

This was with the 1/4 ball

This the 1/8 ball, bounce back and forth between these two images a couple times.

sorry I think the following image is a bit blurry no need to adjust your vision

Ok one with flash now. I hate how it washes out stuff with flash you may see better detail though.
bottom left corner is cut the rest not. tool is moving at 45 degree angle across the part

See the detail yet?

versus this?

how about the Z-level or vertical contours?

send me an email if for no other reason to say Hi.
